At least Fourteen people have been pulled from the rubble after a building under construction collapsed on Oriwu Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, on Wednesday.
Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the structure gave way around 4:00 PM. Emergency responders were swiftly deployed to the scene, working tirelessly to rescue those trapped.
Hundeyin reported that all 14 survivors had been taken to Lagos Island General Hospital for medical care. He also assured that security operatives remain on-site to support ongoing rescue operations.
While the cause of the collapse remains unknown, authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the incident.
