2027: My job is to Raise the Blood of Atiku, Obi, Others — Nyesom Wike

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that his mission ahead of the 2027 general election is to make opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, uncomfortable by “making them have high blood pressure.”

Wike spoke on Friday in Abuja while inspecting ongoing projects in the Federal Capital Territory, insisting that there is currently no formidable opposition party in Nigeria.

Reacting to Osun State Governor-elect Ademola Adeleke’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu and himself, Wike said the development was part of a growing “Rainbow Coalition” backing the President ahead of 2027.

He said, “When you say opposition, I have told you, I don’t know what you call opposition. I say there is no opposition now.”

According to Wike, Adeleke remains a PDP member who contested on another platform due to internal party wrangling, but has now thrown his support behind Tinubu.

He added, “In the next few weeks, watch what is going to happen. You will see the Rainbow Coalition in this country supporting Mr President.”

Wike further declared that the 2027 election would be “the easiest election,” adding, “I told you that the 2027 election would be the easiest election.”

Asked whether he was concerned about how opposition leaders, particularly Atiku and Obi, viewed his recent engagements with Adeleke, Wike said their feelings were irrelevant to him.
“I don’t care; whatever they feel is not my business. I don’t want them to feel well. It is not my wish that they should feel well.”

He continued, “My business is to make them not feel well all day, because they will be having high blood pressure. I guess that is my job, to make them have high blood pressure.”

Wike also said he intended to worsen the opposition’s internal problems.
“I will add more crises for them. So, that’s my position.”
