I Battled Masturbation Addiction for Two Years – Singer Flavour

Nigerian singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, has revealed that he struggled with masturbation addiction for about two years before eventually overcoming it.

The singer made the disclosure during a TikTok Live session with friends, where he recounted how the habit began after he lost his virginity and subsequently lost contact with the woman involved.

According to Flavour, with no sexual partner at the time, he turned to masturbation, but the habit gradually became addictive after a friend introduced him to Mapouka dance videos from Congo.

He said the addiction became so severe that he felt ashamed and struggled to interact normally with friends, even during routine activities such as watching football.

“I was addicted for about two years. It got to a point where I couldn’t even relate freely with people because I felt ashamed,” he said, adding that he even resorted to using liquid soap while engaging in the act.

Flavour disclosed that he initially sought help from his mother’s pastor, whom he described as a guidance and counselling expert.

According to him, the cleric prescribed a 21-day fasting and prayer programme, but the addiction returned a few days after he completed it.

The singer said he later confided in a bassist he worked with, who attributed the problem to his youth and lack of sexual activity.

He claimed the bassist subsequently took him to a brothel and paid for him to have sex with a woman there.

Flavour added that he later began spending part of his earnings from musical performances on weekly visits to brothels, a decision he said eventually helped him overcome the addiction.

The singer shared the experience while reflecting on his personal struggles and how he eventually moved past that phase of his life.
