The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement, Southwest, will on Wednesday begin its grassroots campaign for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu with a 3,000-man walk in Lagos.

The Posterity Walk is scheduled to commence at the Lagos Television premises in Agidingbi, Ikeja, where supporters, stakeholders and residents from across the South-West are expected to gather.

The movement said the event would formally kick-start its mobilisation activities for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the zonal secretary of the group, Awoyinfa Opeoluwa, said the mobilisation was aimed at strengthening grassroots support for the President across the region.

“We are excited to announce the official flag-off of our campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general election,” Opeoluwa said.

The group said the walk would demonstrate its support for the administration while providing a platform to mobilise voters and communicate its message across the South-West.

It described the event as a symbol of unity and support for Tinubu, urging participants to attend with banners and posters.

According to the organisers, the movement intends to sustain its grassroots activities across the six South-West states as preparations for the 2027 election gather momentum.

The mobilisation comes amid increasing political activity ahead of the presidential election, with political parties and support organisations stepping up efforts to build support bases across the country.

Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking another four-year term in 2027.

His administration’s economic reforms have attracted both support and criticism, with supporters highlighting the government’s long-term economic objectives while opposition groups and sections of the public have raised concerns over inflation and the cost of living.

The South-West remains a crucial political region for the President, who hails from Lagos State and has a longstanding political base in the area.

The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement said the Lagos walk would mark the beginning of a sustained campaign aimed at expanding its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.
