NAF Recruitment 2026: Portal Opens Thursday for Airmen, Airwomen

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that online registration for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 recruitment exercise will commence on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

The announcement was made through the force’s official social media account on Wednesday as the NAF prepares to begin the latest recruitment exercise.

The recruitment is for Airmen and Airwomen under two categories: Non-Tradesmen and Women, and Tradesmen and Women.

The NAF clarified that the exercise does not cover the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), which is a separate entry route for graduate officers.

Prospective applicants have been advised to await the official guidelines for the 47/2026 exercise before submitting their applications, as eligibility requirements, available trades and other conditions may differ from previous recruitment exercises.

Previous BMTC recruitment exercises have generally required applicants to be Nigerian citizens by birth, single, medically and physically fit and free from criminal convictions. Applicants have also typically been required to possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

For non-trades positions, previous exercises generally required applicants to be between 18 and 22 years old and possess at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant secondary school examinations.

Applicants for trades positions have typically required additional qualifications such as a National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education, trade test certificate or other recognised credentials, depending on the position.

The NAF advised applicants to complete their registration through the official recruitment portal and print all documents generated after submitting their applications.

The force also warned prospective recruits against fraudsters who may demand money or claim to have the ability to influence applications, shortlisting or final recruitment.

According to the NAF, the application process is free, and it does not engage agents or intermediaries for recruitment.

Applicants have therefore been advised to rely exclusively on information released through the official NAF recruitment portal and its authorised communication channels for updates concerning shortlisting, aptitude tests and interviews.
