Access Bank Plc has warned its customers about a fake WhatsApp group created by scammers to defraud unsuspecting people.

According to the bank, the fraudsters are impersonating Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, to promote fake investment schemes.

The scammers reportedly created a WhatsApp group named “Value Focus Club 60” using the phone number +234 915 708 8290, and used the chairman’s photograph to make the group appear legitimate.

Access Bank stressed that:

The chairman is not on WhatsApp running any investment group

Access Holdings does not offer investment advice via WhatsApp

Any such message or group is completely fake

The fraudulent activity was uncovered by a whistleblower who raised the alarm.

Customers have been advised to:

Avoid joining or engaging with the group

Never share personal or banking details

Block and report the number on WhatsApp

Inform others to prevent them from falling victim

The bank added that efforts are already underway to shut down the fake group, urging the public to remain vigilant and spread awareness.
