A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Abdulmajeed Abdulfatai, broke down in tears after his name was allegedly removed from the list of aspirants for the forthcoming State House of Assembly elections in the Ilorin Central (Mangaji Ngeri) constituency.

Speaking in Yoruba in an emotional video, Abdulfatai was captured sobbing uncontrollably as he lamented his displeasure after being excluded from the list submitted by party officials.

“Today, when I went to submit a letter at the party secretariat, my letter of intention. After I submitted the letter, I was called by the party state secretary, Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo,” he said.

“He asked about my name, and later told me that my name was not among the ones they submitted from Ilorin West.”

According to him, he was shocked when he discovered that his name was not among those who had indicated interest in contesting for the seat to represent Mangaji Ngeri constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly.

“He said my name was not part of those who showed interest to contest for House of Assembly, Mangaji Ngeri constituency, despite the fact that I have already submitted a letter to my ward,” Abdulfatai continued.

“Because the ward chairman informed us that a letter was required from the local government level, I followed due process.”

Fighting back tears, Abdulfatai questioned why his name would be removed as he slammed the injustice and betrayal by the party.

“I don’t know why they removed my name,” he cried.

“If not because they called me now from the state, how would I even know? How would I be suffering for the party like this?”

The aspirant further lamented his lack of political backing, suggesting that internal party dynamics may have worked against him.

“Because I don’t have anyone to stand for me, they just removed my name, despite all the suffering and efforts I have put into the party,” he added.
