Billionaire Kidnapper Evans, Co-Defendant Dies In Correctional centre

The co-defendant of reputed billionaire kidnapper  Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, Chiemeka Arinze has died in the correctional centre custody.

It would be recalled that Evans was on trial with Joseph Emeka, Chiemeka Arinze, and Udeme Upong before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court for the attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianodo, Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors.

They were all facing a seven-count accusation of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping conspiracy, attempted kidnapping, and guns sale etc.

Arinze died on Friday, November 26, 2021, according to a source who requested that his identity remains anonymous.

The source, went on to say that the late defendant’s attorney had  submitted a bail application with the court last week, citing the defendant’s ill-health.

The source further said that the trial in the case will resume today (Monday), and that the bail application would be heard also, before they learned of the defendant’s demise.

Chiemeka, who had been sick, was transferred from the prison to a General Hospital, where he died.
