Breaking News, Finnish Police Arrests IPOB’s Factional Leader Simon Ekpa (Video Included)

Social media is agog with reports making rounds that Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been arrested by the Finnish police.

According to a Finnish medium, Helsingin Sanomat, the IPOB separatist was escorted out of his home in the center of Lahti on Thursday by police officers on plainclothes.

The medium noted that the Nigerian Government asked Finland to intervene in Ekpa’s activities.  Simon has been known to call the shots on the activities of the IPOB group since the detention of it’s formal leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In his latest social media posts, Ekpa called for a boycott of the forthcoming general elections set to hold on Saturday.

Last week, the Nigerian foreign minister invited the Finnish Ambassador Leena Pylvänäine to a meeting because of his activites.

Criminal Inspector Tommi Reen from the Central Criminal Police confirms to HS on the phone that on Thursday, the KRP had a police operation in a private apartment in the center of Lahti in connection with the ongoing preliminary investigation.

The police Arrested one man from the apartment. Krp Suspects the Arrested man of a crime, but does not comment on the crime at this stage.

Reen did not confirm the man’s identity, but only spoke in general about the operation in the apartment in the center of Lahti. They did not comment further on the matter.
