Breaking News, Popular Intagram Skit Maker, De General Arrested And Paraded By NDLEA Operatives

A known Instagram skit maker, producer, Joshua Martins, known as De General has been arrested and paraded in the Ikoyi, Lagos office by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

 

Earlier today, videos emerged on Social Media about what those who posted the video claimed was a break in into his appartment by the NDLEA, but a few minutes ago, his parade pictures which was obtained by Precious Eze’s Blog emerged, putting paid to the fact that the invasion of De General’s home this morning was not a child’s play.

This News Platform learnt that the drug law enforcement agency got a tip-off which took them to his home and in the process, obtain evidence which led to his being arrested immediately, as his arrest followed the raid of notorious drug joint located at Orchid Estate, in Lekki, Lagos.

According to the Spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, the De General was arrested over drug related issues in the early hours of January 12, as the narcotic officers who acted on credible intelligence, stormed a drug joint in Orchid Estate, Lekki where about three suspects, were arrested with 200 satchets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5kilograms of cannabis sativa.

The comedian and skit maker, De General had confessed to being the owner of drugs recovered from his house.

Just In, Danish Man To Die By Hanging For Killing Wife And Daughter

The Lagos High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square annex Has found Dane, Peter Nielsen, guilty of two counts of murder of his Nigerian wife, Zainab, and daughter, Petra.

Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile delivered the judgment in a more than 5-hour long hearing which started at about 5:15pm.

The Lagos State Government arraigned the 53-year-old defendant on June 13, 2018, on a two-count charge of murder, punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015, which prescribes the death penalty, if convicted. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Mr. Nielsen was said to have killed his wife, a musician also known as Alizee, and his daughter on April 5, 2018, at about 3.45 am at their Banana Island residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

The court thereafter sentenced him to death by hanging .

Death Of 50 Passengers Averted As Dana Aircraft Tyre Caught Fire In Port-harcourt

A Dana Airline aircraft with registration number 5N JOY operating flight 9J 344 from Port Harcourt to Lagos caught fire during takeoff yesterday night around 9:00 p.m. 2nd of May 2022 as it was about to take off from Port Harcourt International Airport.

The aircraft was set to take off when the pilot in command noticed an anomaly which he queried with the Air Traffic Control before embarking on a ramp return in line with strict safety operating procedures,

However, the impact on the brakes as a result of the aborted takeoff affected the aircraft tyres which sparked off while the aircraft was taxiing to repark.

All 50 passengers on board the aircraft disembarked safely  as Dana maintenance team immediately grounded the aircraft pending the conclusion of their investigations.

Dana apologizes to all the passengers on the flight for the inconveniences caused due to the eventual cancellation of the flight.

The Nigerian civil airspace has maintained a relatively safe record for about a decade now which has increased passengers’ confidence in air travel.

The last air crash in the country involving a commercial airplane was in June 2012 when a Dana Air MD-83 aircraft from Abuja crashed near the Lagos airport while attempting an emergency landing, killing all 153 souls on board and six on the ground.

Dana Air said the safety of their passengers and crew will remain a top priority in all aspects of their operations and that they will continue to operate in accordance with the civil aviation regulations and global best practices.

An Alleged Drunk Man Fell Off A Three Storey Building In Lagos

A 41-year-old man, Irabor Edga, has been confirmed dead by the police after he allegedly fell off a three-storey building in Lagos.

The incident was said to have occurred around 5:30am on Saturday at Esther Adeleke Street, Lekki Phase 1.

It was gathered that Edga was allegedly drunk when he fell from the building while trying to urinate.
He was alleged to have drunk alcohol overnight and was intoxicated at the time of the incident which made him slip.

The man, it was gathered, died on the spot and his body was later evacuated by policemen attached to Maroko Division.

Also, a 29-year-old man, Kingsley Okeugo, allegedly committed suicide on Saturday night at 4, Abimbola Close, Yaba.

Okeugo was said to have been found dead inside his room around 9pm with no marks of violence to suggest he was killed.

Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incidents, adding that the bodies were evacuated to morgues for autopsy.

He said investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause of death.
