Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has sparked fresh social media buzz after rejecting content creator Peller’s wedding invitation, insisting that being invited through a direct message was disrespectful and that he should be paid to attend.

The drama began after Peller publicly invited the “Zazuu” crooner to his forthcoming wedding, describing him as a celebrity whose presence would add glamour to the occasion.

“Omolalomi, we’re specially inviting you to our wedding. We need someone like you at our wedding because you’re a star,” Peller said.

However, Portable dismissed the invitation, claiming he played a key role in Peller’s rise to fame and therefore deserved greater respect.

“You’re a spoilt child. Is it not you, Habeeb, that I built? I was among the people who posted you so people could know you. Normally, you and your wife are supposed to come to my house with the Aso-Ebi and personally invite me. I’m your elder brother,” the singer said.

Portable further argued that, as a busy performing artiste, attending the wedding without financial compensation was out of the question.

“Use money call me. I’m a superstar and a musician. August 1, I already have a show that I’ve been paid for, so should I now come to your wedding for free?” he declared.

The singer also criticised the wedding arrangements, likening the planned event to a political campaign and questioning the decision to sell Aso-Ebi to members of the public.

He concluded by insisting that important invitations should be delivered in person rather than through social media messages.

The exchange has since gone viral, with fans divided over Portable’s demands. While some believe established entertainers deserve formal invitations and appearance fees, others argued that weddings are personal celebrations where friendship should take precedence over financial expectations.
