Court Sentences Bobrisky To Six Months In Jail With No Option Of Fine

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday morning sentenced a popular crossdresser and socialite Idris Okuneye better known as Bobrisky to six months in jail without the option of a fine over naira abuse.

Recall that Bobrisky was arrested last Wednesday evening by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos State.

Bobrisky’s arrest came barely 24 hours after the Nigeria Police Force stated that it lacked enough evidence to arrest him for same-sex activities.

The Nigeria Police Force last Tuesday said it could not arrest Bobrisky over calls to arrest the crossdresser.

There had been calls for Bobrisky’s arrest, especially after social media influencer and blogger, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan in recent videos condemned the award of Best Dressed Female to the cross-dresser at a Nollywood event.
