Developing Story, Africa Richest Man, Dangote Loses Brother Sani In USA

The richest man in Africa,  Aliko Dangote have lost his younger brother Sani, in a US hospital.
Sani was the vice president of Dangote Group and owner of Dansa Agro-allied Limited.

Close family sources confirmed the death to DAILY NIGERIAN, saying Mr Dangote died at a US hospital on Sunday evening after a protracted illness.

The announcement came in a short statement released by the Dangote Group on Sunday midnight.

Dangote Group statement reads,

INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJIUN. It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to Almighty Allah that we announce the passing on of our Group Vice President, Alhaji Sani Dangote today 14th November, 2021. May Allah SWT grant him mercy and admit him in aljannat al firdaus.’’

Before his death, Sani, who was reported to have been battling with ill health for several months, had investments in manufacturing, agriculture, banking and oil services.

Mr Dangote was a businessman with more than 30 years’ experience in manufacturing, agriculture and oil services.
Economic Confidential had reported that Alhaji Sani Dangote was the Group Vice President. He was an established businessman with investments in key sectors of the economy including manufacturing, agriculture, banking, and oil services.
He also sat on the Board of several other companies including Nigerian Textile Mills Plc, Nutra Sweet Limited, Gum Arabic Limited, Dangote Textile Mills Limited, Alsan Insurance Brokers, Dan-Hydro Company Limited, Dansa Food Processing Company Limited and Dangote Farms Limited. He was also the Deputy Chairman of the African Gum Arabic Producers Association and a two-time President of Lagos Polo Club in addition to being a professional polo player.

In recognition of his sterling leadership qualities, he was appointed as the Consul-General of the Romanian Embassy in Nigeria. He was a member of several Chambers of Commerce, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipping of Nigeria and President of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association (“FERSAN”).

Friends close to him can attest to how close he was to his elder brother Aliko Dangote. He was said to be publicity shy and very unassuming person.
