DSS Arrests Ginger Onwusibe Member Elect LP Representative Isiala Ngwa North & South Federal Constituency In Abuja

In what took everyone by surprise,  DSS operatives today arrested Honourable Ginger Onwusibe in Abuja. He was in the Federal Capital to collect his certificate from INEC having come out victorious in the February, 25th, 2023, presidential and national assembly elections to represent Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency. In a press statement by his head of media team, it read thus!

GINGER ONWUSIBE ARRESTED BY DSS AT ABUJA IN A GRAND PLOY TO KEEP HIM AWAY FROM GUBER ELECTION SO AS TO FAIL LABOUR PARTY AT ALL COST.

Officially, on behalf of the Ginger Onwusibe Campaign Team, I do hereby inform the general public, Labour Party members and our numerous supporters that our principal, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency at Abia State House of Assembly and the member-elect under Labour Party to represent Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Okenze Sir Ginger Onwusibe was arrested today by the DSS personnel at Abuja.

Hon. Ginger Onwusibe alongside other newly elected House of Representatives members had gone to the International Conference Center, Abuja to receive their certificates of return from INEC. It was after he had received his own certificate and was going out of the venue, that he was ambushed by officials of the DSS and was whisked away.

He is now confirmed to be in the custody of the DSS at Abuja. Why would the DSS, the secret police and a supposedly security intelligence outfit arrest a public officer like a common criminal when they never sent him an official invitation?

The official procedure of arresting a public officer is for the arresting agency to first of all issue an invitation to the suspect through the suspect’s office (in this case through the Abia State House of Assembly via the Clerk or the Speaker).

For Ginger to be arrested at Abuja, particularly at the venue where he had gone to receive his certificate of return over and in respect of the election he has just won without any prior invitation from such an intelligence agency, is the height of dumbness.

Why would the security agency of this height allow itself to be used by self-serving and selfish politicians who have grounded Abia State and do not want any opposition?

The truth is that Ginger Onwusibe represents the symbol of opposition in Abia State and the face of Labour Party in Abia State and has therefore become the systemic “threat”.

Recall that since Ginger left the ruling PDP in Abia State for Labour Party, he has undergone a continuous, unabated ordeal of arrests, attacks, threats to his life, detentions, petitions, etc. He was even expelled from the state-owned ivory tower, the Abia State University, Uturu where he was studying law, just to frustrate him

This last game with the DSS is nothing other than to keep him away and to make sure that he does not stay around during the guber election, next 3 days. Some of them have been bragging that once Ginger is kept away that Labour Party will lose in Abia.

They insist that his presence is a morale booster for his large followership.

This is the GINGER FEVER during elections.

We call on our Labour Party members, supporters and fans to keep calm while we demand that DSS should release Ginger Onwusibe.

NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!
