Ex-Bauchi Deputy Governor Baba Tela Loses Two Children in Tragic Road Crash

Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, is mourning the loss of two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, who died in a tragic road accident along the Bauchi–Azare Road.

The fatal crash occurred on Saturday as the siblings were travelling back to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.

According to reports, the vehicle conveying them was involved in a serious accident, and both Mustapha and Ummi died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Their bodies were later taken to a hospital in Bauchi, where medical personnel confirmed their deaths.

The tragedy has drawn an outpouring of sympathy from across the state, with Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, describing the incident as a heartbreaking loss.

In a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor extended his sympathies to Senator Tela and his family on behalf of the government and people of Bauchi State.

Mohammed said the deaths of the two siblings represented not only an immeasurable loss to their family but also a painful moment for the entire state.

“The loss of these two young lives is not only a devastating blow to Senator Baba Tela and his immediate family but also a painful loss to the entire people of Bauchi State,” the statement read.

The governor prayed for Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased, grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort the bereaved family with the strength and patience needed to endure the difficult time.

He also urged Senator Tela and his family to find solace in the will of Allah, assuring them of the government’s support, prayers and solidarity as they grieve.

Governor Mohammed further extended his sympathies to other families affected by the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.

The tragic incident has left many residents of Bauchi State mourning with the Tela family as tributes continue to pour in for the young siblings whose lives were cut short.
