The Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Danjuma Shekwolo, has clarified the appointment of Ibrahim Danladi following public reactions to a letter describing him as Special Assistant (Dance).

An appointment letter dated 13 July and signed by Shekwolo stated that Danladi’s appointment took immediate effect.

The letter, referenced KAC/CHM/30/VOL.1, said the appointment was in recognition of his “selflessness, hard work, dedication and contribution to the development of Kuje Area Council.”

It also urged the new aide to justify the confidence reposed in him by carrying out the responsibilities of his office diligently.

“With pleasure, I wish to inform you that you have been appointed as Special Assistant (Dance) with immediate effect,” the letter read.

The document further expressed confidence that Danladi would continue to contribute positively to the growth and development of the council in his new capacity.

However, speaking to TheCable on Friday, Shekwolo insisted that the appointment had been widely misunderstood.

“Yes, I made the appointment, but the perception being created is wrong. It is an appointment as Special Assistant on Entertainment, not Dance,” the council chairman said.

His clarification came after the appointment letter circulated on social media, attracting widespread reactions over the designation.

Shekwolo was elected Chairman of Kuje Area Council in February on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polling 17,269 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Zakwoyi Danlami, who secured 15,824 votes.
