History Is Made, As Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning And Urban Development Resigns

News reaching indepthnews has it that the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako had resigned because of series obuilding collapses experienced during his tenure in office, with lives of Lagosians being lost each time a building collapses.

As a result, the man in charge of buildings had to take the fall by giving up his job, should there be anything he isn’t doing well, so another competent hand could be brought in by the Governor to manage the place, setting the record as one of the few, if not the only one who would be compelled to resign his position for things to get better.

So, the Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, had to accept his resignation from his position as Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development within 24hours after the collapse of another building in the state.

In a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, indicated that the resignation was a step towards the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies with the Governor wishing his successes in his future endeavors.

The Governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are,” the statement read in part.
