Pope Francis has decried the insecurity in Nigeria, describing the increasingly frequent kidnappings in Nigeria as extremely concerning.
The head of the Catholic church worldwide, who shared his concerns in a post he shared on his official X (formerly Twitter), promised to pray for the Nigerian people.
He expressed optimism that efforts will be made to contain the spread of insecurity in the country.
Pope Francis wrote: “The increasingly frequent kidnappings in Nigeria are extremely concerning.
“I express my closeness in prayer to the Nigerian people, hoping that efforts will be made to contain the spread of these incidents as much as possible.”
