Nigerian singer, Teniola popularly known as Teni has showered praises on her fellow female musicians.

“I don’t know any blown male artist that can outsing us (tiwa savage, yemi alade, and waje) in the music industry; mic for mic, vocal for vocal. they came from us, so we’re their mothers” the artist said.

Teni made this statement during her appearance at entertainment week africa (ewa) 2025 in lagos, where she was part of a panel discussing gender, creativity, and the evolving music landscape in africa. addressing vocal ability and recognition, she argued that female artists like tiwa savage, yemi alade, and waje have set high standards that many male artists still learn from.
