American billionaire and former aide to United States President, Donald Trump, Elon Musk has apologised for his statements toward Trump.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, he admitted he had gone too far.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” he posted on X.

Previously, Musk lashed out at Trump over the budget bill presented by the administration and passed by Congress.

He stated that without him, Trump would have lost the United States election, and went on to say the President lacks gratitude.

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” he posted on X.

“Such ingratitude,” he added.

He was commenting after Trump stated that he was disappointed in Musk for condemning the budget bill.

The BBC quoted Trump as speaking to reporters during a news conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday.

He was quoted as saying:

“We are doing things in that bill that are unbelievable.I’m very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here,” he said. “All of a sudden he had a problem.”

“He hasn’t said bad (things) about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next.”

Musk then went on to deny ever knowing the contents of the bill that was passed.

“False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!,” Musk said in response to Trump’s claim that he knew the workings of the bill.
