ICPC Uncovers Alleged Fake Government Agency Inside SGF Complex

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered an organisation it described as a fake government agency operating from within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The organisation reportedly operates under the name **National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office**, despite allegedly having no legitimate government status.

The ICPC disclosed the discovery on Friday, saying the organisation had been allocated office space within the SGF complex in Abuja.

The development has raised questions about how an organisation allegedly posing as a government agency was able to gain access to office facilities within a major federal government complex.

The anti-corruption commission said it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the organisation’s presence in the premises, including how the office space was obtained and the activities being carried out there.

However, the commission did not immediately disclose the identities of the individuals behind the organisation or provide details of any arrests or sanctions arising from the discovery.

The ICPC said additional information would be released as its investigation progresses.

The discovery comes amid continued efforts by anti-corruption and law-enforcement agencies to identify fraudulent entities exploiting government names, offices and institutional identities to carry out unauthorised activities.
