Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Emefiele was arraigned on a six-count amended charge bordering on fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
He was arraigned before Justice Hamza Muazu.
Mr Mathew Burkaa, SAN, Emefiele counsel had moved the application for his bail, but Rotimi Oyedepo, the EFCC counsel, was opposed to the application on behalf of the anti-graft.
After the arguments by the Counsels in the case, Justice Muazu said he will need time to study and go through the exhibits supplied by Emefiele for the support of his bail request.
He subsequently adjourned the case to November 22, 2023, for judgement.
