Kano Governor’s Spokesperson Loses 15-years Old Son After Transplant In India

Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa who is the Kano State’s Director-General of Media and Publicity, has announced the passing of his 15-year-old son, Sadiq Modibbo Bature, following a bone marrow transplant surgery in India.

Sadiq, who had battled sickle cell anaemia from birth, underwent a bone marrow transplant.

However, just days after the procedure, he succumbed to post-surgery complications that affected his brain.

The tragic news was shared by Sanusi Bature on his social media page, where he described Sadiq as a bright and well-behaved young boy who endured a lifetime of pain due to the condition.

The spokesperson for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf shared his grief, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of his first child.

“Throughout his life, Modibbo has suffered from sickle cell anaemia which he undergone a successful bone marrow transplant this month in an Indian hospital. Unfortunately, he died as a result of a post-surgery complications in his brain.

“The body of our beloved Saddiku would be brought back home in few days for burial in according with Islamic rites in my home town, Dawakin-Tofa. Date and time would be announced on arrival of his remains,” he said.

He is expected to be buried according to Islamic rites at Dawakin Tofa town in the coming weekend.
