Labour Party Wins First House Of Reps From Abia State, As Ginger Onwusibe defeated Former Chief Of Staff, ABC Agbazuere

Result from the House of Representatives election in Abia State has started coming in and in as much as the Independent National Electoral Commission warns that results should only be gotten from them, but this particular one announced by Vanguard Online cannot be overlooked.

Vanguard announced that Labour Party’s candidate for Isiala Ngwa North and South federal constituency and former member of the Abia State House of Assembky, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, emerged winner of Saturday’s poll.

He is said to have polled 20411 votes to floor his closest rival and former Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Professor A. C. B Agbazuere of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 13, 508 votes.

Ginger Onwusibe, who is a member of the Abia State House of Assembly, left the PDP last year and defected to Labour Party following some loggerheads with the State Governor, over what onlookers thought was the Governors high handedness, especially in choosing who got what slot and who didn’t get.
