Lady Commits Suicide in Anambra After Boyfriend She Had Three Abortions for Broke up With Her

Police authorities in Anambra State have launched an investigation into the death of a 25-year-old female student who was found dead in Onitsha on June 18 under circumstances that investigators say are being treated as a suspected suicide.

According to police sources, a note believed to have been written by the deceased was recovered at the scene. The note reportedly referenced emotional distress linked to a failed relationship and past personal experiences involving multiple pregnancies that were terminated.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, said investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.

While expressing concern over the tragedy, Orutugu said the incident highlights the importance of stronger emotional support systems for young people, particularly those facing personal and relationship-related challenges.

He urged parents and guardians to take a more active interest in the emotional well-being of their children and wards by paying closer attention to behavioural changes, social interactions and signs of emotional distress.

The police commissioner also called on community leaders, educational institutions, faith-based organisations and civil society groups to strengthen mentorship and awareness programmes aimed at promoting resilience, positive values and healthy coping mechanisms among young people.

According to him, creating supportive environments where youths feel comfortable seeking help during difficult periods could play a vital role in preventing similar tragedies.

As part of efforts to ensure a comprehensive inquiry, the commissioner has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a thorough and discreet investigation.

The incident has left many residents saddened, serving as a reminder of the emotional struggles some young people face behind closed doors and the importance of timely support from family, friends and the wider community.
