The newly sacked emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has urged the residents of the state to respect decisions of court in the ongoing power tussles within the emirate.

The 15th Emir said this while addressing his supporters and newsmen at the mini-palace where he has been since his return to the state after his dethronement.

He expressed his confidence that the court would decide justly on the matter and vowed to accept whatever the law states, adding that Kano is an important state in Nigeria.

“I call on the people to remain law-abiding while awaiting outcome of the legal process on this tussle,” he was quoted by Daily Trust.

He continued: “We call on the authorities to do justice in this matter. Kano is a very influential state in Nigeria. Whatever affects Kano affects Nigeria. May peace reign in Kano. We pray for Allah to bless Kano with responsible and just leaders. Justice is the way to go on every issue.

“There will be justice. Nobody is above law. We will accept whatever the law says. I appreciate all the people who have shown concern. As I said, justice will take its course. We will keep on praying for peace in Kano State. May Allah the Almighty protect us.”

We earlier reported about the high presence of security personnel at Government House, Kano on Saturday.

The security men were stationed at strategic places within the Kano metropolis, though they did not restrict movement.

It was also learned that the Chief Security Officer to the governor was visibly disturbed as he moved about, declining comments.

Top security operatives who earlier met with the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, are currently inside the government house holding another meeting.
