Man Kills 8years Old Son With Petrol For Misplacing Sewing Thread In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man over the murder of his 8-year-old son in Epe, area of the State.

It was gathered that the incident happened on August 5, 2024 at about 5:30pm.

The father reportedly doused the deceased’s face with petrol while punishing him for misplacing his sewing thread. The boy subsequently became unconscious.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Tuesday, stating that the suspect has been arrested.

He asserted that the corpse has been deposited at General Hospital Mortuary in Lagos for preservation and autopsy.

He said, “The boy’s father poured petrol on the his face while punishing him for misplacing his sewing thread.

“The deceased was later given palm oil to drink by his senior sister. After administering the palm oil to drink by his senior sister, the boy began vomiting and was rushed to the hospital, where the boy was confirmed brought in dead by the doctor on duty.

“Upon receiving the complaint, DPO led detectives to the scene, suspect was promptly arrested and the corpse was evacuated and deposited at general Hospital mortuary Lagos for preservation and autopsy.”

“Case will be transferred to SCID Panti Yaba for further investigation,” he added.
