Mercy Aigbe Apologises To Daughter Michelle For Harsh Upbringing

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Actress Mercy Aigbe has revealed that she recently apologised to her daughter, Michelle, for the tough parenting she received during her upbringing.

Speaking at a recent film premiere in Lagos, the 47-year-old reflected on her past as a single mother and how it shaped the way she raised Michelle.

“Three days ago, I had to send her an apology text,” Mercy said during a press interview. “I told her, ‘I’m sorry. You might think the upbringing I gave you was hard.’ And yes, it was. I won’t lie—it was harsh. But I raised a vessel for God.”

She shared a p+inful memory that brought things into perspective. “One day I called her and she didn’t pick up. I had to call her friend, who asked her to call me back. When she finally did, I asked, ‘Michelle, why didn’t you pick my call?’ She said, ‘Mommy, I’m tra¥matised. I remember you h+t a bucket on my head one day.’”
