National Chairman Damagum, Others Have Destroyed PDP – Dino Melaye

Former controversial senator who represented Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has accused the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Iliya Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu, and Umar Bature of destroying the party.

Damagum became the acting chairman of Nigeria’s opposition party on 28 March 2023 following a court order restraining Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the national chairman.

Mr Ayu, a former senate president, had earlier been suspended by his ward in Benue State.

In a post via his X handle on Saturday, Melaye alleged that Damagum and the two other national leaders had irredeemably destroyed PDP.

He added that the opposition party had been commercialised and privatised.

“End of the road for PDP as Damagum, Bature and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party. We will talk about the commercialisation and privatisation of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time,” he said.
