NDLEA Arrests 93-Year-Old Great-Grandpa in Drug Cartel Raid in Abia State

A 93 year old man has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency intensify a nationwide crackdown on drug cartels and their collaborators.

In Abia State, the nonagenarian identified as Pa Friday Ahukanna Chigbu was arrested at his residence in Umuagbaigba, Amavo Nkwogu village, Osisioma LGA on April 7, 2026.

A search of his home led to the recovery of 7.7 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis.

The suspect reportedly said he once worked as a truck pusher before learning painting and tiling, but later ventured into the drug trade over a year ago. He also claimed he had been smoking skunk since 1959 before turning it into a business.
