Nigeria Singer Davido Announces Joint Album With Chris Brown

Award winning Nigerian Afrobeat ls star, Davido has announced his forthcoming joint album with American R&B icon Chris Brown, targeted for release in 2027.

The Grammy-nominated music star broke the news during a recent interview on ‘Swift Conversations’ podcast.

While cautioning that plans could shift, Davido expressed optimism about the long-gestating project.

He explained that the music he is making now is “very African,” and that he is working closely with his original Nigerian producers.

“The music I am making now is very African. In this next project, I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home,” he said.

“I am still an American so definitely there’s going to be collaborations. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year, hopefully.”

Davido has made similar comments regarding the direction of his sound in recent times, noting that he is no longer seeking to create Western-style music.

The Afrobeats star and Brown share a history of collaboration, having consistently joined forces since 2019. Their musical synergy began with Davido’s hit ‘Blow My Mind,’ which featured Chris Brown.

That same year, Brown reciprocated by featuring Davido on his track ‘Lower Body’.

‘Under the Influence’ released in 2019 was co-written by Chris Brown, Davido, and Tiffany Mckie, with production by Nigerian producer KDDO.

Their partnership continued in 2020 on ‘Shopping Spree’ alongside rapper Young Thug, in 2022 on Brown’s ‘Sensational,’ and also in 2024 on the track ‘Hmmm’.
