Nigerian Army Arrests Two Soldiers for Acting As Bouncers At Peller and Jarvis’ Wedding

The Nigerian Army has arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in an unauthorised deployment during the star-studded wedding of popular content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.

The soldiers were reportedly taken into custody on Tuesday after intelligence suggested they had provided security at the celebrity wedding without official approval, according to SaharaReporters.

Military sources identified the personnel as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) in Obalende, Lagos.

Sources familiar with the matter said preliminary investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding their deployment and determine whether other military personnel were involved in the alleged breach.

The development follows the circulation of videos from the high-profile wedding on social media, showing uniformed soldiers managing crowds and escorting guests around the venue. One of the clips that attracted significant public attention allegedly captured a soldier escorting popular TikTok personality Ivanna into the event.

Under Nigerian Army regulations, serving personnel are prohibited from undertaking private security assignments or participating in deployments without official authorisation.

The Army is continuing its investigation to determine whether disciplinary action or further measures will be taken against those found to have violated military rules.
