Nigerians Should Support Tinubu for Second Term, Says Governor Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has called for national unity behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying Nigerians should support the President’s bid for a second term in office.

Fubara, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the appeal while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt. He urged citizens to rally behind the President to enable him to continue implementing policies aimed at national development.

He described President Tinubu as a “committed and patriotic leader” who deserves another term, expressing confidence in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on economic reforms, national security, and broader infrastructural development..

According to him, the current administration has recorded what he described as “significant progress” over the past three years, adding that even greater achievements could be realised if Tinubu is re-elected in 2027. He acknowledged that challenges remain in parts of the country but maintained that there is still strong belief in the President’s leadership and reform direction.

The meeting brought together traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West regions, and centred on the role of traditional institutions in fostering unity, peace, and sustainable development across southern Nigeria.
