NSCDC Shuts Down Chinese Companies Over Alleged Terrorism Financing in Kaduna State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has sealed all branches of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd over alleged terrorism financing and vandalism of public infrastructure in Nigeria.

The agency disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, saying it obtained a court order to shut down the companies over allegations ranging from conspiracy to commit a felony to theft and concealment of vandalised railway materials.

According to the NSCDC, operatives of the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad raided one of the factories located in Birnin Yero, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where several allegedly stolen government assets and critical infrastructure were recovered.

The corps said investigations revealed the existence of a coordinated network allegedly involved in transporting vandalised national infrastructure to company facilities in Aba and other locations for processing.

“Armed with valid search warrants and court orders, the operatives stormed the Birnin Yero facility in Igabi LGA, Kaduna State.

Confession from arrested staff revealed a coordinated logistics network where vandalised national infrastructure was routinely moved to the company’s headquarters in Aba and other branches for melting,” the statement said.

The NSCDC further alleged that the stolen steel materials were recycled into commercial products including roofing sheets and nails.

The security agency also stated that the management of the companies, reportedly owned by Chinese nationals, had been summoned but failed to honour the invitation.

Commandant General Ahmed Audi reportedly directed that all individuals found culpable in the investigation should be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
