Osun Election: Accord Disowns Imumolen’s Endorsement of APC’s Oyebamiji, Reaffirms Adeleke

The Accord Party in Osun State has rejected the endorsement of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji by Christopher Imumolen, insisting that Governor Ademola Adeleke remains the party’s candidate for Saturday’s governorship election.

Imumolen, who claims leadership of a faction of Accord, appeared at the after APC mega rally in Osogbo on Thursday and announced that his faction had withdrawn its support for Adeleke and endorsed Oyebamiji. He also urged Accord members across the state to vote for the APC candidate.

However, the Osun chapter of Accord dismissed the declaration, describing Imumolen as an “impersonator” and stating that he does not represent the recognised leadership of the party.

State chairman Victor Akande said the party’s recognised National Chairman is Maxwell Mgbudem and that its National Working Committee has endorsed Adeleke.

The controversy stems from an ongoing leadership dispute within Accord, with competing factions claiming authority.
