The Nigeria Police Force has extradited Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, popularly known as “Killaboi,” from Doha, Qatar, to Nigeria to face murder charges. He is accused of killing his 21-year-old girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, a first-class student of Lead City University, at his residence in Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023.
Nnayereugo had been on the run since the incident and was declared wanted on October 13, 2023. After briefly being arrested in Sierra Leone under a false identity, he escaped during a prison break in November 2023. Intelligence later traced him to Doha, where he was living under a fake name with forged documents.
INTERPOL NCB Abuja, in collaboration with Qatari authorities and the Federal Ministry of Justice, confirmed his identity using biometrics, leading to his arrest in February 2025 and eventual extradition.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised the cooperation of INTERPOL, the Attorney-General of the Federation, and Qatari authorities, assuring the public that the suspect will be prosecuted diligently.
