Police Uncover Baby Factory In Lagos, Rescue 10 Victims Including Children

A baby factory operating in the Ijegun area of the state, has been uncovered by the Nigerian police.

Report says 10 victims were rescued including three children, and three suspects linked to the illegal operation was also arrested.

Police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this development on Monday, noting that the raid followed a credible tip-off received last Saturday.

Hundeyin said officers swiftly acted on the information, storming the location and apprehending the alleged ringleader, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, along with two accomplices, Orie Ruth (23) and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).

“During the raid, the police found and rescued seven adult women and three children aged seven, five, and two.

“The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), while the rescued children are Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

“All the rescued victims are currently receiving adequate care and support,” Hundeyin said.

He further revealed that the suspects confessed to kidnapping the victims from various locations across the state to operate the illegal baby factory.

He added that investigations are still ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be charged in court soon.

The police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help combat human trafficking and related crimes.
