Press Release, Aig Garba Baba Umar Is Now Interpol Vice President For Africa

The news getting to indepthnewsng, says that Aig Garba Baba Umar have been elected as the Vice President of Interpol to represent Africa.

He emerged winner from the 195 Interpol member countries, getting 140 votes out of 150 representing 97.2%. There were 4 No’s and 6 Absentees. The tenure of his service is 3 years.

AIG GARBA BABA UMAR EMERGES INTERPOL VICE PRESIDENT (AFRICA)

 

Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Garba Baba Umar, psc, the Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Nigeria, has emerged the duly elected Vice President (Africa) and Executive Committee Member of the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) – INTERPOL. AIG Garba was elected in the early hours of today, 25th November, 2021 in the 89th INTERPOL General Assembly currently holding at the Halic Congress Hall, Istanbul, Turkey. The year 2021 General Assembly, which have in attendance 470 Police Chiefs, Ministers and Senior Law Enforcement Officials from the 195 INTERPOL member countries, seeks to identify areas where the organization can reinforce the global security architecture and enhance collaboration against national and transnational crimes.

 

2. AIG Garba, one of Nigeria’s finest criminal investigators and professional strategic police manager, with over thirty (30) years policing experience both at national and international levels, polled the highest number of votes in the elections. With this appointment, which will span through a period of 3yrs, AIG Garba is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in coordinating INPERPOL operations targeted at ensuring a safer world for people and communities across the African continent. This is in addition to drawing international policing support and cooperation towards advancing public safety and security, protecting the cyber space and generally addressing challenges faced by law enforcement officers and policing managers in the continent.

3. The Nigeria’s delegation to the 89th INTERPOL General Assembly was led by the Honourable Minster of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, ably supported by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc. The other members of the delegation are: the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (represented by the Naval Provost Marshal).

“SGT Jude Ogudu and 4 others spotted in the viral video assaulting a lady have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command. They are currently being held in the detention facilities of the State CID. The case is being investigated by the X-squad unit of the Command.”

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu Trial Postponed Due To New Amended Charges

The trial of the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu today was  postponed till Wednesday 19th January 2022 due to additional terrorism charges instituted against him by the Federal government.

His counsel Mike Ozokhome (SAN) complained of giving them late notice of any amended terrorism charges. He said that they got the notice for today’s amended charges less than 24hrs before court proceedings. The IPOB leader Nnamdi has not even seen the amended terrorism charges leveled against him.

Ozokhome cries out that this is a technical ambushing, increasing the terrorism charges from six to fifteen with a deliberate attempt to continue to delay the trial of the IPOB leader.

Breaking News, Popular Intagram Skit Maker, De General Arrested And Paraded By NDLEA Operatives

A known Instagram skit maker, producer, Joshua Martins, known as De General has been arrested and paraded in the Ikoyi, Lagos office by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

 

Earlier today, videos emerged on Social Media about what those who posted the video claimed was a break in into his appartment by the NDLEA, but a few minutes ago, his parade pictures which was obtained by Precious Eze’s Blog emerged, putting paid to the fact that the invasion of De General’s home this morning was not a child’s play.

This News Platform learnt that the drug law enforcement agency got a tip-off which took them to his home and in the process, obtain evidence which led to his being arrested immediately, as his arrest followed the raid of notorious drug joint located at Orchid Estate, in Lekki, Lagos.

According to the Spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, the De General was arrested over drug related issues in the early hours of January 12, as the narcotic officers who acted on credible intelligence, stormed a drug joint in Orchid Estate, Lekki where about three suspects, were arrested with 200 satchets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5kilograms of cannabis sativa.

The comedian and skit maker, De General had confessed to being the owner of drugs recovered from his house.
