Queen Elizabeth II, Flamboyant Final Farewell Journey

Queen Elizabeth II’s flamboyant final farewell got underway today Monday as Britain and the world laid the beloved and longest-reigning monarch to rest.

The 96-year-old monarch made her final journey to Westminster Abbey where the she was married and crowned for her state funeral service Monday morning.

King Charles III and his sons, Prince William with wife and Prince Harry with wife,   Andrew and Anne her children were among those who marched solemnly behind her coffin in a brief procession from Westminster Hall to the Abbey where other members of the grieving royal family had already gathered.

There were more than 2,000 official guests, including President Joe Biden and other world leaders, gathered inside Westminster Abbey for the procession.

She will be buried at St Georges Chapels next to her mother and about eight sovereigns.
