Support Tinubu, Better Electricity Is Coming Soon, Power Minister Assures Nigerians

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms will soon deliver noticeable improvements in electricity supply across the country.

Speaking during an interview on TV Platinum, Tegbe acknowledged the challenges confronting the power sector but maintained that the government remains committed to addressing them through stronger collaboration and sustained reforms.

He appealed to citizens to remain patient and continue supporting the administration’s efforts, stressing that national progress requires collective commitment.

“We are calling on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Also pray for us. Whatever challenges this country is plagued with, by God’s grace, we will overcome them and we’ll get there,” he said.

The minister expressed optimism about the outlook for the electricity sector, noting that many Nigerians have already reported improvements in power supply in recent weeks.

“Very soon, Nigeria will be lit up. We’ll see visible improvement. Nigerians have been giving me feedback that power supply has improved across Nigeria in the last four weeks,” Tegbe stated.

According to him, recent gains are the result of extensive engagement with key institutions and stakeholders responsible for the nation’s electricity infrastructure and development.

He said agencies including the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the Ministry of Power, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and other sector players have committed to working together to improve electricity delivery.

“I have engaged various key stakeholders in the sector, TCN, Ministry of Power, REA, NEC, everybody and they have given commitments. And that is what you are seeing today with improvements,” he added.

Tegbe assured Nigerians that efforts are ongoing to sustain the momentum and ensure that improvements in electricity supply become more consistent in the months ahead.

His remarks come amid growing public expectations for reliable power as the Federal Government continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening generation, transmission and distribution across the country.
