Suspected kidnappers Kill Community Leader, Abduct His Daughter And Another Young Woman in Edo

Suspected kidnappers have killed a 50-year-old community leader, Chief Jimoh Jacob Ogbie, and abducted his daughter and another young woman in Idoa Community, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo state.

Sources said the incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on February 23, 2026 at the victim’s residence in Idoa Community.

Chief Jacob was reportedly attacked and killed by the assailants, while his 23-year-old daughter, Nene Jacob, was abducted alongside one of her friends whose identity had yet to be ascertained.

The corpse has been deposited at a morgue for autopsy.

Search and rescue efforts have since been intensified, with security operatives conducting bush-combing operations in the area to secure the release of the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
