T.Y Danjuma Donates ₦3bn as Gowon Unveils Autobiography in Abuja

Former Minister of Defence, Theophilus Danjuma, on Tuesday donated ₦3 billion during the public presentation of the autobiography of former Nigerian Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, in Abuja.

The autobiography, titled “My Life of Duty and Allegiance,” attracted top political leaders, business figures and dignitaries from across the country.

Vice President Kashim Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the ceremony, which celebrated Gowon’s contributions to Nigeria’s history and public service.

Africa’s richest businessman, Aliko Dangote, also supported the launch with a ₦500 million donation through the purchase of copies of the book.

Several other prominent Nigerians made financial contributions during the high-profile event, which drew political associates, military veterans, diplomats and members of the business community.

The autobiography chronicles Gowon’s life, leadership journey and experiences during his years in national service, including his role during critical periods in Nigeria’s political history.

The event further highlighted Gowon’s enduring influence in Nigeria’s public and political landscape decades after leaving office.
