President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met behind closed doors with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Adeleke, who secured re-election in the Osun governorship election held on Saturday, August 15, arrived at the State House at about 5:20pm and headed straight to the President’s office for the meeting.

The meeting took place shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission presented Adeleke with his Certificate of Return, formally recognising his victory at the polls.

Adeleke contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party and polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.

The closed-door meeting between Tinubu and Adeleke comes amid renewed political activities following the Osun governorship election and the governor’s return to office for another term.

The details of their discussion were not immediately made public as of the time of filing this report.
