Tinubu’s Government To Open New Rehabilitation Camp For Bandits, Terrorists

The Federal Government has announced plans to establish a second Operation SAFE CORRIDOR Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Reintegration (DDR) camp in the North-West to encourage low-risk terrorists and band+ts to surrender and reintegrate into society.

This was disclosed by Major-General Adamu Garba Laka, the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) under the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), during a visit from a delegation of the Alliance de Sahel from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, who were on a study tour.

Laka noted that Nigeria’s deradicalisation programme began in 2015 within the Nigerian Correctional Service and has since been expanded due to its effectiveness.
