Update: Taraba Governor’s Sister Dies From An Accidental Shooting By A Police Escort

Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of the Taraba State governor, has passed away from gunshot wounds sustained during an attack in Kente village, Wukari Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred last Thursday when gunmen ambushed the vehicle carrying Atsi, 44, and her mother, Jumai Kefas.

DailyTrust reports that in the confusion, a police officer assigned to protect the family unintentionally shot Atsi while responding to the attackers.

After initial treatment at the Teaching Hospital in Wukari, she was transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, where she later succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, December 10.
