You Bought Your Grammy award — Singer Brymo Lambast Colleague, Burna Boy

Nigerian singer Brymo has responded to a lyric by fellow artiste Burna Boy in which the Grammy-winning musician rapped, “Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo.”

Speaking during an appearance on the NotJustOk podcast, Brymo made it clear that he has no interest in engaging Burna Boy through music, insisting that the Afro-fusion star does not hold enough significance in his career to warrant a lyrical response.

“I told him your name no go ever appear for my song. You’re not that important. Who’s your mate? You won a Grammy, and so what? It was bought now. I’ve been told to pay $10,000 for a BET Awards before,” Brymo claimed.

The singer also took aim at Burna Boy’s musical ability, questioning his credentials as a performer and songwriter.

“Can you perform, can you write, can you sing? I don’t care what fraternity you belong to,” he said.

Brymo further maintained that, in his view, Burna Boy does not measure up to him when it comes to what he described as “pure music”, suggesting that his own artistry and songwriting place him on a different level.

Burna Boy has yet to publicly respond to Brymo’s remarks.
