Yvonne Jegede Ex-husband ‘Abounce’ Says He’s No Longer In Love With Her But Will Always Protect Her

Nollywood actor Kunle “Abounce” Fawole has said that although his romantic relationship with actress Yvonne Jegede has ended, he will always stand by her because of the lifelong bond they share as parents.

Speaking in an interview on With Chude, the actor reflected on their failed marriage, revealing that he has chosen to let go of resentment and embrace peace rather than dwell on past disagreements.

Looking back on the relationship, Fawole suggested that they eventually realised they were not compatible.

“I had a girlfriend once, but it didn’t work,” he said.

Asked what led to the breakup, he replied: “I think we’re just on different planes. I’d rather be the one to say, ‘Everything was my fault,’ so to speak. I don’t like the enmity of things.”

The actor explained that he sees no reason to harbour ill feelings towards someone he once loved, adding that he would never ignore Jegede if their paths crossed.

“I don’t want to see somebody that I used to be with down the street and turn my face away,” he said.

When asked directly whether he still loved his former wife romantically, Fawole gave a brief but clear response: “No.”

Despite that, he said his sense of responsibility towards Jegede remains because she is the mother of their son.

“Yes, she’s the mother of my son,” he said.

Emphasising the depth of that responsibility, the actor remarked that he would do everything within his power to protect her if she were ever in danger. He made the comment while illustrating how seriously he takes the role of safeguarding the mother of his child.

When asked whether that protective instinct stemmed from wanting to keep her safe, Fawole replied: “Yes.”

He maintained that his commitment to protecting Jegede is rooted not in lingering romantic feelings but in the respect and shared responsibility that come with raising their son together.

The former couple, who were married before going their separate ways, have continued to co-parent their child despite the end of their relationship.
