No Matter Your Race, Religion, This War Will Hit Everyone – Iran Foreign Minister Warns

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has warned that the global repercussions of the ongoing conflict involving Iran will be far-reaching, cautioning that “everyone” will ultimately feel its impact.

Speaking on Wednesday, 18 March, Araghchi stressed that the consequences of the war would cut across borders and social divides, affecting people regardless of race, religion, or economic standing. His remarks reflect growing concern within Iran over the broader implications of the escalating tensions.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the minister described the situation as the beginning of a wave of global consequences, urging Western leaders to show greater resistance to the continuation of the conflict.

Accompanying his message was a copy of a resignation letter from Joe Kent, the outgoing director of the US National Counterterrorism Center. Kent, who stepped down on Tuesday, 17 March, stated that he could not, “in good conscience”, support the ongoing war, arguing that Iran did not pose an imminent threat to the United States.

Araghchi pointed to what he described as a growing chorus of dissent within Western political circles, including voices in both Europe and the United States, who have questioned the justification for military action against Iran.

He called on more members of the international community to take a stand, suggesting that increased opposition could help shift the trajectory of the conflict.

The remarks come amid heightened geopolitical tensions, with analysts warning that any prolonged confrontation could have significant economic, political, and humanitarian consequences worldwide
