Jim Iyke has stirred debate after making controversial remarks about the entertainment industry, describing it as a space that often promotes self-glorification rather than devotion to God.
The Nollywood actor made the comments during an appearance on the Joey Akan Podcast, where he reflected on the values he believes dominate the entertainment world and their impact on society.
According to Iyke, the industry has become a powerful platform that frequently elevates personal fame and worldly success above spiritual values.
“There is no bigger enabler than entertainment. This is where demons live,” he said.
The actor further argued that the structure of the entertainment industry largely promotes ideals he associates with Satanism, maintaining that godly principles are rarely at the centre of mainstream entertainment.
“Entertainment is totally orchestrated and created to extol the virtues of Satanism. What in entertainment glorifies God, except you intentionally or consciously go for Him, or pursue Him, or find your place with Him?” he stated.
Iyke also questioned the kind of values celebrated within the industry, asking, “What do we extol that’s godly?” He, however, acknowledged that individuals can still honour God through their creative work if they make a deliberate and personal commitment to doing so.
His comments have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with some agreeing with his views on the moral direction of the entertainment industry, while others argued that the sector remains a platform where people of different beliefs and values can positively influence society through their talents.
